We're seeing a notable trend in 2026: Cleveland buyers who originally planned to move up within the city are taking a second look at the east-side suburbs. Solon, Twinsburg, and Aurora are all coming up in conversations that started as 'we want to stay in the city.'

The drivers: schools, taxes, and the gap between what you can afford in the city ($400K-$500K range for a real family home) versus the same money in eastside suburbs (where you get newer construction, larger lots, and stronger schools).

This isn't a recommendation to leave the city, many of our clients ultimately stay, and Cleveland has real strengths. But if you haven't run the comparison recently, you may be surprised at what the same budget buys you 25 minutes east.
